Toucans

Toucans are among the most visually stunning birds on the planet. With their oversized, colorful bills and playful demeanor, toucans are unlike any other pet bird. These softbill birds have unique dietary and care requirements that set them apart from parrots.

Persian Turacos

The Persian Turaco (also known as the White-cheeked Turaco) is one of the most breathtaking softbill species in aviculture. With vibrant green plumage, striking crimson flight feathers, and an elegant crest, these birds are living works of art. Their unique pigmentation — turacoverdin and turacin — are found nowhere else in the animal kingdom.

Turacos are active, social birds that do best in spacious aviaries where they can fly and hop between perches. At VCM Bird Land, we're proud to carry these rare and beautiful birds.

PersonalityActive, social, and inquisitive. Turacos are energetic birds that enjoy flying and hopping. They can become tame with regular, gentle handling but are more observational than cuddly.

Noise LevelModerate. Turacos have a distinctive "go-away" call and various coos and barks. They're generally quieter than parrots but can be vocal in the morning and evening.
